How much information can the brain really hold?
The human brain is made up of approximately one billion neurons, each of which forms about 1,000 connections to other neurons. Considering there are over a trillion connections in the brain, it is easy to see how calculating the organ’s storage capacity is extremely difficult. The good news is that despite some memories taking up much more space than others, the brain is unlikely to ever run out of storage space in a lifetime. Study shows men with iPhones appeal more to women
54 percent of women said that they would be more likely to date a man if he owns an iPhone because it shows that the man is intelligent and wealthy. 37 percent said that owning an iPhone makes a man also seem reliable, increasing the chance of a second date. UK sales of the iPhone are estimated to be around two million, with 75 percent of that attributed to sales to 18 to 40 year-old men. Impressions are also not always true in the dating game because men who own the iPhone normally have £3,750 less disposable income per annum than those who do not own the iPhone. Different prices in-store and online should not be a big deal
For years, retailers have been struggling with the concept of consistent pricing for a product. According to consumer research, people generally don’t care or understand why prices of the same product differ between in-store and online channels. Many consumers never think to compare the two mediums before purchasing, and those that do realize that there is an opportunity cost associated with relatively cheaper on-line purchases. On average, shoppers realize that e-commerce is cheaper to manage and those cost savings are expected to be passed on in on-line pricing. Word of mouth responsible for 20-50 percent of purchases
According to a McKinsey survey, marketing campaigns that encourage considerable word of mouth have a much greater impact than traditional campaigns. The study argues that 20percent to 50percent of products, especially high dollar items, are influenced by recommendations and word of mouth. The study also showed that an advertising overload causes a mistrust and feeling of overcompensation for the product. The study also revealed that 50 percent to 80 percent of all word of mouth comes from direct experience with the product. More at Warc.com, 4/21/10: (Article posted on 4/26/2010)

The benefits to waiting to buy an iPad
