Major record labels stand to profit from lower digital music prices
Research from Wharton marketing professor Raghuram Iyengar suggests that record labels could gain greater profits by lowering song prices. Findings show that consumers who download music would buy substantially more songs if the prices were lower, thus overall profits would increase. Iyengar says the optimal price a record label should charge is likely between 30 and 40 cents, as opposed to the current 99 cent model. Cell phones may positively impact Alzheimer’s disease
A recent study of mice provides evidence that increased exposure to electromagnetic waves, such as those from a mobile phone, may protect against or even reverse Alzheimer’s disease. The study was published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and is especially significant because of the signs of reversed memory impairment in aging Alzheimer’s mice. Researchers are hopeful the discovery will help discover a cure for the disease sooner than expected. More at cellular-news.com, 1/7/10: (Article posted on 1/19/2010)
